Personality essay

I’ve always found it difficult with these personality surveys, because the questions are so vague, and the answer would differ according to the situation I was asked it in. From this survey I got adventurer ISFP-T, at first I didn’t think adventurer described me.

But when I read the analysis based on my answers, I found it did describe me.

76% introverted: I have noticed that I spend a lot of time alone and that I need that alone time as my social battery drains quite fast. And being alone lets me ‘recharge’.
61% observant: I notice a lot of things that happen and what other people do around me.
54% feeling: I have always been sensitive to feelings, my own and others. Over time I have stopped reacting to things as easily, but when I was younger, I used to get sad or angry very easily.
65% prospecting: I don’t like planning many things because I know nothing can go perfectly as you plan when other people are involved. I prefer planning the start and then going with the flow.
74% turbulent: I have a lot of fast changes in how I feel, one second, I could be having fun with a friend and in the middle of talking I might start feeling unfocused and bored. I might also be at home reading and get a quick burst of energy and want to start making my own book or start cleaning.

“Beneath your easy-going exterior lies a heart of gold. Your empathy runs deep, and you have a genuine desire to understand and support those around you. However, you’re not one to wear your heart on your sleeve – your feelings often run deeper than others realize.” This is what it said about me, and I feel like it’s mostly correct.

Career path

  • My strengths in a workplace are:

Creative Expression & Practical creativity- I easily find ways to express meaning through my work or art.
Quick to adapt & Flexible approach- I find it easy to adapt to new situations, or even if things go sideways, I can stay calm and either fix what happened or make the best of it.
Genuine empathy- I often want to help others that I work with.
Attention to atmosphere- I’m almost always attuned to what the atmosphere around me is, and I try to keep it uplifted.

  • My weaknesses in a workplace are:

Lost in Routine- I easily lose interest of routines or fall of them, and if I fall off, I can’t bring myself to get back on track
Reluctant to Promote Yourself- I don’t network with people easily, nor do I talk about my works.
Easily Discouraged by Criticism- Getting negative feedback easily drops me off my motivation for the work and similar ones I might be doing at the same time.
Avoiding Long-Term Planning- I don’t like planning ahead because eventually those plans will fail, and I don’t want the added stress of trying to keep plans together. This makes it difficult to make timelines for any project I’m doing.

I know I can’t keep motivation in a workplace where I would need to do the same thing every day, I would be easily drained of my energy and lose interested in it. I need change in my routine, and I will need to look for a job that allows me to do that.
